Q3 Is there any form to be filled up to become a life member?
Yes. For those who want to become life members have to buy compulsorily the Examination Hand Book (EHB) the current price is Rs. 50/- from the associated institutes or they can remit the amount to the Insurance Institute of India at Mumbai with a request letter by demand draft. Membership enrollment form is attached in the EHB which should be filled up in duplicate & submitted to the associated institute where the membership is sought.

Q4 From where can I get the study books for the examinations of the Institute?
The study books, subject wise of all the examinations of the Institute published by us. Candidates can buy the books from the associated Institutes.

In case books are not available they can forward the cost of the books to Insurance Institute of India by demand draft with a request letter. Normally it will take at least one week's time to supply the books. Cost of books is available in the EHB. Cost of books for licentiate & CIS examinations is Rs. 75/- each, for associateship cost is Rs. 100/- each (except subject no. IC21, cost is Rs. 125/-) and for fellowship Rs. 125/- each. Books are available in Hindi language also except of fellowship.

Yes. Cost of books for foreign candidates for licentiate examination is Rs.1100/- each, for associateship Rs.1250/-, fellowship Rs.1350/-, unsolved question papers Rs.500/-& EHB Rs.500/-. Candidates require the books may send the request letter directly to the Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai with the cost by DD in equivalent Indian Rupees.

On passing associateship and fellowship examination, the respective candidates are provided with the result certain forms commonly known as election forms & life membership forms which they have to fill up and return to either Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai or submit to the associated Institute where they are member along with the prescribed fees within the speculated time. Yes. Published twice in a year for the period January-June & July-December.

Q13 Can I subscribe for the journal?
Yes. Cost is Rs. 50/- per copy. The cost may be remitted to Institute office at Mumbai indicating number of copies required. The cost may be remitted sometime in 1st week of July for Jan-June issue & 1st week of January for July-Dec. issue

Q14 Is there any tie up with the Chartered Insurance Institute, London & the Insurance Institute of India ?
There is no tie up as such. We conduct CII examination in Mumbai under their instructions. The fellows and associates of the Insurance Institute of India enjoys the exemptions in seven and four subjects respectively out of ten subjects to become an associate of CII.
